Concept / Illustration / Art Direction / Character Design
Client: Homegrown India
This two-part poster series was commissioned for Homegrown’s Back to School Event.
I created six characters. I gave them all the same face, but each with their own personal style, each representing one of the many types of personalities you would find in a classroom.
I gave them all the same facial features to show that even though children have their own individuality they/we were all expected to conform and comply and were all eventually offspring of the cookie-cutter breed.
Event 1: HG Academy
HG Academy was the first event. It was to be a panel discussion covering all the topics that were considered TABOO when we were in school.
For this poster, I thought it would be fun to show the characters in formation as a marching band, ushering in a new progressive age of unfiltered conversation.
I turned this into an animated poster for their social media handles.
Event 2: Back to School Dance Party
For dance party poster series I gave each of the six characters objects that would go a step further to bring out their individual personalities as they let go of their inhibitions and dance on top of their desks.
This too was turned into an animated series of posters.
